This rich enamel-filled poppy badge available from the military specialists honours the generations of Australian men and women who have carried forward a proud heritage of service in the Royal Australian Navy. In 1909 the British Admiralty and Australian Government agreed to establish an Australian Fleet Unit to provide Australia's naval defence. Until then Australia had relied on the Royal Navy.

The first ships of the Commonwealth Naval Force arrived in Australian waters in November 1910. On 10 July 1911, His Majesty King George V granted the title of 'Royal Australian Navy' to the Commonwealth Naval Forces and a unique Australian naval tradition was born. The badge fixes with a butterfly clip.

Pin measures approx 20mm high.
